Being a cooperative nursery school, Hopedale parents are involved in all aspects of the school. All families are expected to take turns helping in the classroom as the "duty parent" as well as serve on either the executive or a committee. In addition, member families contribute to the maintenance of the classroom.

"Duty days" are an opportunity to be a part of your child's preschool experience. By helping the supervisor with crafts and snacks, you get to contribute to the school while observing the program in action. Whatever your training, you will find these days fun and rewarding! Getting to know all the children and all the families in your child's class are valuable bonuses of a co-op school. And your child's excitement when it's your duty day make it even more special. Generally, parents will be required to help in the classroom about once a month.

All families are also required to fill some role in the school's executive or on a committee. This can be anything from co-president to outdoor maintenance to guinea pig keeper. We all contribute to making our school a great place for our kids.
